Error initializing Mozilla Firefox Unified NSS Store on Windows

For Windows and Mozilla Firefox operating systems you can check the following help to try to solve the error:

- If the operating system is Windows 32-bit, the browser must be installed in the default system path, C:/Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox.

- If the operating system is Windows 64-bit, the browser must be installed in the path C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox.

  • Check the status of electronic certificates. Go to "Tools", or the 3 horizontal stripes icon, "Settings", "Privacy and security", "Security", "Certificates", "View certificates"; The certificate must be installed in the "Your Certificates" tab.

  • If your browser has a master password set, check that it is being entered correctly. To prevent the error from occurring, you can temporarily disable the master password by accessing the "Tools", "Settings", "Privacy and security", "Browser privacy" menu and unchecking "Use a master password".

  • If there are strange characters or accents in the user name, it is recommended to use another browser to perform this procedure.

  • If it only fails when signing procedures with Java, it is not possible to use Mozilla Firefox, with current versions, or Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge due to incompatibility with Java. In this case it is recommended to have Mozilla Firefox 40 installed. If the installed version is higher, it is recommended to uninstall it and install the compatible version.

  • Go to www.java.com and download the latest version of Java compatible with your operating system by following the instructions on this page.

  • Once installed, go back to "Tools", "Add-ons", "Plugins" and verify that the "Java (TM) Platform SE" plugin is in the "Always activate" state.
