5.II.1. Reassessment following changes in EU legislation

If changes to EU customs legislation affect the conditions and criteria related to AEO status and impact them, a reassessment will be required.

An example would be the changes to the AEO criteria adopted following the amendment to the Union Customs Code and its implementing provisions, such as the new criterion on the appropriate level of professional competence or professional qualifications. Normally, legislation requires that the reassessment be carried out within a specified transition period.
