A joint operation by the Tax Agency and the Guardia Civil

• One person arrested and three investigated for alleged drug trafficking in Fañabé (Adeje)

• Various types of drugs were seized and were sent to different parts of the country by postal parcel.

June 24, 2022.- Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency and the UDAIFF unit of the Civil Guard of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have dismantled a distribution point for various types of drugs that was organized under the guise of a "cannabis club." In addition, one person has been arrested and three others investigated for alleged drug trafficking in Fañabé (Adeje).

As a result of inspections carried out at the tax inspection points carried out by the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard in customs warehouses, several shipments of postal packages were detected, originating in the South of Tenerife, containing various quantities of drugs and being sent to Barcelona and Ibiza. For this reason, within the framework of the operation "Blond"to locate and identify the authors of these shipments.

The investigation led investigators to an organised group running a "cannabis club" that was being used as a cover for the sale of narcotic substances in the town of Fañabé (Adeje).

Following appropriate monitoring and investigations, on June 15, a member of the group was arrested as he was trying to leave the island on a flight to Ibiza, carrying a large sum of money and about 204 grams of marijuana in two vacuum-packed bags. Following the arrest, a raid was carried out on both the premises and the home of the club owners, where a large amount of money, marijuana and hashish were seized.

Following the seizures and arrest, the drug dealing outlet organised under the legal guise of a "cannabis club" is considered to have been dismantled.

The detainee was transferred to the Civil Guard facilities at Tenerife North Airport, where proceedings were initiated, and on the morning of June 16 he was brought before the Court of Instruction No. 4 of La Laguna.
