Modify an already filed Income Tax return

If after filing your Income Tax return you notice errors or omissions that make it necessary to modify the return you filed, you can file a correction or a supplementary return, either for the current year or for a previous year that has not expired.

Errors or omissions noted may lead to two situations:

  1. If you are financially harmed because the amount to be returned is greater, or the amount to be paid is less, you can request a correction of the declaration.

    Also if the modification affects data that does not modify the result of the declaration.

  2. If financial damage is caused to the Treasury because the amount to be returned is lower, or a greater amount to be paid, you must file a supplementary declaration.
