More than 1,400 sildenafil pills and four bottles of male sexual enhancers seized at Bilbao airport

  • One of the operations resulted in the seizure of 764 sexual enhancement pills and four bottles from a passenger from Senegal, attributing to him the authorship of a crime against public health in the area of medicines.

  • In the other two arrests, separate reports were issued for smuggling violations, the first to a passenger also from Senegal who was carrying 400 male sexual stimulant tablets and the second to a passenger from Colombia, who was carrying 292 sildenafil pills.

  • The arrests took place on three different flights bound for Bilbao airport.

July 4, 2023.- Officials of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency together with Civil Guards from the Tax and Border Section of the Bilbao airport have seized 1,456 sildenafil pills and four bottles of sexual enhancers in three different operations and on the same day.

Investigators from the Customs Surveillance Service and the Civil Guard who act as State Fiscal Security, under the functional dependence of the Regional Customs and Tax Agency. of the Basque Country of the AEAT, daily carry out, among other actions, inspections of passengers and luggage according to preventive risk criteria at Bilbao airport.

On June 20, a traveler from Senegal via Lisbon was checked and inspected for luggage. He had previously stated that he was not carrying anything that could be declared at the customs facility.

The agents discovered inside a suitcase that was part of his luggage, 312 pills of 200 mg, 120 pills of 150 mg, 160 pills of 100 mg and 172 pills of 50 mg, all of them with the same component of sildenafil citrate, along with four 50 ml bottles of gel with the same excipient.

As a result of these events, the drugs were seized, attributing to the passenger the authorship of a crime against public health in relation to medicines.

This was not the only action carried out that same day in the field of male sexual enhancement drugs. On another flight from Senegal, but this time with a stopover in Madrid, the agents found 400 100 mg sildenafil pills in a passenger's checked luggage, seizing the tablets and drawing up a report – complaint for a violation of drug smuggling against the traveler.

The third arrest took place on a flight from Colombia, also via Madrid, when a passenger's luggage was inspected and 292 50 mg sildenafil tablets were found among his personal belongings. The officers proceeded to arrest him and report the passenger for the same events as in the previous case.

It should be noted that the three operations were carried out on the same day and on different flights, and the perpetrators were allegedly unrelated to each other.
