November 24, 2023.- Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency and agents of the National Police have arrested two men and a woman, aged 29, 41 and 32 respectively, as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health. Those arrested were responsible for a cannabis association located in Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura).

The operation began when investigators learned of the existence of a distribution point for narcotic substances, specifically marijuana, following numerous complaints from residents who denounced the transit of people and the strong smell emanating from a cannabis association.

The association distributed the narcotic substances in an establishment under the guise of an association related to the study of the properties of marijuana and its derivatives, known as 'cannabis associations'.

A police investigation was launched which revealed that drugs were being sold at the premises and that the substance was being grown and processed for consumption in the homes of two of the premises' owners.

With the relevant entry and search warrant, two raids were carried out, one in the premises where the association was located and another in the house where the crops were allegedly grown. During the searches, 44 marijuana plants and 10.7 kilos of the substance were seized. In addition, various drug dealing tools and several electronic devices were seized.

For all these reasons, the three people in charge of the establishment were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health and placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
