1,505 marijuana plants have been seized on five plantations

Two individuals arrested for alleged involvement in drug trafficking and electricity fraud
October 31, 2023.- The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and the National Police, in a joint operation, have carried out an operation against the cultivation of marijuana, dismantling a criminal organization based in a rural area of Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville).
The operation was established on 5 October when, as a result of investigations, a plot of land for agricultural use was detected in the municipality of Alcalá de Guadaíra. The users of the farm were already known by investigators for engaging in the illegal activity of marijuana cultivation.
Low-traffic areas to control the plantation
During the search of the plot, five greenhouses were found containing more than 1,505 marijuana plants in an advanced state of flowering. These sites are used by criminal organisations taking advantage of the low traffic and the ease with which they can detect the presence of anyone not connected to the plantations.
Following the investigation, the organization dedicated to the illicit trafficking of marijuana has been dismantled, and two individuals have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of crimes against public health and fraud in electrical fluids. In addition, two other people have been investigated in connection with the events.
At the end of the proceedings, the judicial authority ordered the release of the detainees on bail.
The operation was carried out jointly by the Customs Surveillance Operational Unit of Seville and the National Police.
