August 13, 2024.- Agents from the Deputy Directorate of Customs Surveillance and the National Police have arrested three men of Spanish nationality, aged between 40 and 56, for committing crimes related to drug trafficking and electricity fraud. The detainees have been considered responsible for managing a marijuana plantation in a house in the district of La Raya in the city of Murcia, where plants with a total weight of more than 100 kilograms were seized.

As part of the ongoing fight that the Deputy Directorate of Customs Surveillance and the National Police have been carrying out in a coordinated manner against the cultivation of marijuana in the Region of Murcia, a joint investigation was carried out last June that allowed them to locate a house that could be housing a marijuana plantation inside.

Discreet surveillance of the area by the agents allowed them to observe a series of clear and obvious signs of the possible existence of a plantation, including the constant smell of marijuana that invaded the streets surrounding the house under investigation. They were also able to identify a number of people who entered and left the house, and who had also been previously charged for being responsible for other marijuana plantations located in Alcantarilla and Puente Tocinos (Murcia).

Finally, agents from the National Police and the Deputy Directorate of Customs Surveillance, through the corresponding judicial authorization, carried out the entry and search of the house, seizing marijuana plants with a total weight of more than 100 kilograms. In addition, the equipment used in this type of "indoor" installation was seized, and the three people responsible for the plantation were arrested and charged with drug trafficking and electricity fraud.
