The Tax Agency and the Civil Guard intercept a couple in the Port of Palma who were carrying 1.4 kilos of cocaine in the trunk

August 26, 2024.- Tax Agency officers, together with Civil Guard officers, have intercepted a couple in the Port of Palma who were carrying 1.4 kilos in the trunk of their car.

During a routine service within the fiscal protection and border control responsibilities of the Civil Guard, a random vehicle check was carried out with the support of Customs Surveillance officials (Tax Agency of Mallorca) during the disembarkation of one of the ships coming from the Peninsula.

During the search, a car occupied by a couple was inspected, in which a package of 1.4 kilos of cocaine was found hidden in the structure of the trunk.

For this reason, they were immediately arrested as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking crime. After both were presented before the Judicial Authority, it was decided that both of them should be sent to prison.

Meanwhile, on 21 August, officers from the Balearic Islands Civil Guard Command arrested a man for alleged drug trafficking.

Everything happened unexpectedly. It was the officers, while carrying out other duties of the Corps, who noticed the presence of a car that was driving inappropriately.

The Civil Guard quickly decided to stop him, observing the driver of the vehicle with a high degree of nervousness. Given this behavior and after several inconsistencies during the identification of the individual, they decided to inspect the vehicle, finding two kilos of cocaine inside.
