A marijuana plantation in Puerto del Rosario has been dismantled

  • The detainee was growing marijuana in the back of a farm that was previously used for livestock farming.

  • The arrested person is the tenant of a cannabis association

  • Police investigations managed to identify the now detained man through a complaint that he himself had made last March.

December 3, 2024.- Customs Surveillance officials of the Tax Agency with the collaboration of agents of the National Police, have arrested a man in Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura) as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health.

Last September, both bodies began an investigation after learning of a marijuana plantation located inside a property.

Investigators learned of the plantation through a complaint filed last March at the National Police station in the capital of Fuerteventura by the now detained man. In the complaint, the arrested man stated that they had broken into an establishment he rented, a cannabis association.

The investigation resulted in the subsequent entry and search of the property in Puerto del Rosario. Following the search, the main suspect was arrested and the marijuana plantation for which he was responsible was dismantled.
