72 kilos of cocaine hidden among teak wood chips seized inside a warehouse in Antequera
- Six people belonging to a criminal organization dedicated to transporting drugs between South America and Spain have been arrested
January 31, 2024.- Customs Surveillance officials of the Tax Agency, in a joint operation with agents of the National Police, have seized 72 kilos of cocaine hidden among teak wood chips, inside a warehouse in Antequera (Málaga). In this operation, six people belonging to a criminal organization dedicated to transporting narcotics from South America to Spain have been arrested.
The investigation began when investigators became aware of the existence of an organisation dedicated to transporting cocaine from South America to Spain, whose head was based in the province of Malaga. The members of the network transported the drugs hidden in containers made of teak wood chips.
Following various investigative efforts, the agents managed to identify the members of the organisation and proceeded to arrest them in a warehouse in Antequera. 72 kilos of cocaine hidden among teak wood splinters were also seized on the ship.
Those arrested have been brought before Court number three of Antequera and the investigations remain open pending further arrests.
