February 2, 2024.- Officials of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency, agents of the National Police Station of San Andrés del Rabanedo and the Municipal Police of this same town, on Thursday morning and within the framework of the operation 'Crayfish', have acted against several clans selling counterfeit clothing in a macro-operation at the Trobajo del Camino market.

In the context of investigations into crimes against industrial property and smuggling, various inspections and controls have been carried out for months at different textile stalls that were set up in the market and occasionally operated from other locations in the San Andrés del Rabanedo district. The entire operation followed the protocol and guidelines established by the Tax Agency's Customs Surveillance Service in order to be able to reliably verify whether the activity being carried out consisted of the marketing of counterfeit products.

On Thursday morning, the last phase of the operation was carried out in a coordinated manner, in a deployment in which Customs Surveillance officials, agents of the National Police and the Local Police of San Andrés del Rabanedo participated, seizing more than 6,000 items of clothing from different well-known brands and six vans. The garments arrived in Spain from Portugal, where the owners of some stalls travelled weekly to load their vans and sell the merchandise in markets throughout Spain.

During the inspections, numerous items of clothing from different brands were found, which were examined on site by experts and representatives of the various brands, certifying their falsity from the outset.

As a result of the events under investigation, eight people have been arrested, allegedly belonging to five groups dedicated to the sale of counterfeit products.

Once the detainees have been heard in their statements, they have been released and summoned to appear before the judicial authority when summoned for that purpose.

Once the proceedings have been completed and everything that has been instructed up to that point will be sent to the on-call Court of Instruction in León.

This operation completely dismantles a network selling counterfeit clothing in San Andrés del Rabanedo.
