Two marijuana plantations dismantled in Alcalá de Guadaíra

  • 523 marijuana plants in an advanced state of flowering were seized

  • Two individuals arrested for their alleged involvement in the events

July 4, 2024.- The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and the National Police, in a joint operation, have carried out two operations that have resulted in the dismantling of two greenhouses used for the cultivation of marijuana, in both cases plots located in rural areas in the Seville town of Alcalá de Guadaíra.

The project was established on May 23, 2024, and was carried out in a rural and difficult-to-access area located in the town of Seville. These sites are used by criminal organisations taking advantage of the low traffic and the ease with which they detect the presence of anyone not connected to the plantations.

As a result of the investigations carried out, two plots were detected in which marijuana cultivation activities were taking place.

Once the alleged perpetrators were identified, entry and registration was requested at the Alcalá de Guadaira Court on Duty, and 523 marijuana plants were seized, leading to the arrest of two individuals of Spanish nationality, both with previous police records.

The seized substance and the detainees were placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction No. 3 of Alcalá de Guadaíra on duty, and its holder ordered the imprisonment of one of them.

The final weight of the seized substance was more than 318 kilos of marijuana buds, which would have reached a value on the illicit market of approximately 605,000 euros.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Customs Surveillance Operational Unit of the Tax Agency in Seville and the Narcotics Group of the Local Police Station of Alcalá de Guadaíra.
