• There is a person under investigation as the alleged perpetrator of crimes of smuggling and against public health

June 4, 2024.- Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency and agents from the Tax and Border Section of the Civil Guard of Castellón, in a joint operation, have seized more than 300 packages containing hashish and marijuana buds in a 'grow shop' in Villarreal. One person is being investigated as the alleged perpetrator of crimes of smuggling and against public health.

The operation began in February, when information was received from courier companies about the reception of marijuana packages in a "grow shop" type establishment in Villarreal.

At that time, investigators took the necessary steps to obtain samples of the products sold by the establishment. A laboratory analysis of the substances obtained revealed that they were flowering tops of marijuana and hashish resin. These products are included in Schedule I of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961 and are therefore subject to control.

The investigators immediately reported the facts to the Anti-Drug Prosecutor's Office in Castellón and informed the Judicial Authority in Villarreal.

Subsequently, on May 3, the Investigative Court No. 3 of Villarreal issued an order to enter and search the premises under investigation.

Thus, the entry took place on May 6th. There, packages of hashish and marijuana buds that were for sale to the public were seized. In total, more than two kilos were seized, distributed in more than 300 bags of various doses. Packages of one, three, five, ten, 25, 50 and even 100 grams were seized.

The seized substance has been deposited in the offices of the Customs Surveillance Service in Castellón for transfer to the Health Laboratory. One person is being investigated for the events as the alleged perpetrator of crimes of smuggling and against public health.
