Homemade synthetic drug laboratory raided in Seville

  • The arrival of a package from Holland with psychoactive substances inside set in motion the joint operation between both bodies

  • The Judicial Authority ordered the immediate imprisonment of the main suspect

June 6, 2024.- Customs Surveillance officials of the Tax Agency in Seville, in a joint operation with the National Police in Seville, have proceeded to dismantle a clandestine drug production center in a neighborhood of the Sevillian capital.

As a result of the searches, more than 1.5 kilos and 800 pills of different psychoactive substances were seized, such as methamphetamines, Ketamine, Tusi, MDMA, GHB, synthetic cathinones, Poppers and Viagra.

From the Netherlands to a home laboratory in Seville

The investigation began after the interception of a package originating in the Netherlands and destined for Seville, inside which around 300 grams of the so-called New Psychoactive Substances (NSP) were found.

Once this shipment was intercepted, a device made up of agents from both bodies was established to determine the recipient of the same.

Finally, last April, the person who received the package was arrested, and among his belongings were found numerous single-dose bags ready for sale containing different types of psychotropic substances, as well as fractional amounts of money, which made investigators suspect the existence of a place where these drugs were prepared for later distribution.

Thanks to the actions of the agents, it was possible to identify and locate the place where these types of substances were processed, carrying out different searches in several properties, and in one of them finding a home laboratory for preparing synthetic drugs. More than 1.2 kilos and 800 pills of different psychoactive substances were seized there, such as methamphetamines, Ketamine, Tusi, MDMA, GHB, synthetic cathinones, Poppers and Viagra. Precision scales, glass smoking pipes, bottles and dropper pipettes were also seized, as well as 22,000 euros and 2,900 dollars in cash.

Once the police investigation was completed, all the seized items were placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities, in addition to the main suspect, who was ordered to be sent to prison.

This operation dismantles a home-based production centre dedicated to the preparation and distribution of synthetic drugs in Seville, linked to 'chemsex', substances whose consumption is linked to sexual practices.
