March 25, 2024.- The Customs Surveillance Unit of the Tax Agency in Badajoz, together with members of the Fiscal and Border Patrol of the Civil Guard of Badajoz and Villanueva de la Serena, have detected a fraud of subsidized diesel generated by several companies and businessmen in the province of Badajoz. As a result of the actions, six individuals are considered alleged administrative offenders for improper use of diesel fuel and two others are being investigated as possibly related to the fraudulent activity.

The actions, carried out on March 14 at different points in the municipalities of Castuera and Campanario, focused on the control of facilities for receiving subsidized diesel fuel; specifically the so-called 'B' diesel fuel, mainly intended for agricultural use.

In this context, four reception points for 'B' diesel fuel were supervised, as well as checks for possible irregularities in its use in vehicles not authorised for this purpose.

In the municipality of Castuera, three tanks were inspected, one located in a workshop and car sales shop, with a capacity of 2,000 litres, another in the facilities of a livestock farm and feed factory, also with a capacity of 2,000 litres; and a third located in a warehouse and with a capacity of 1,000 liters. The fourth tank, also with a capacity of 1,000 litres, was located in a car body and paint repair shop in the municipality of Campanario.

Also in relation to the possible irregular use of 'B' diesel, checks were carried out on a large number of vehicles with different characteristics, such as passenger cars, trucks and special vehicles, resulting in a total of 15 positive checks after the extraction and analysis of samples, for which the corresponding reports were drawn up.

According to the Special Tax regulations, and taking into account the taxable capacity of the 15 vehicles, the economic sanctions for each of them will range between 3,600 and 7,200 euros.
