Two black spots of synthetic drug trafficking dismantled in Maspalomas

  • The operation concluded with the dismantling of two sales points for synthetic drugs in the leisure area of Playa del Inglés

  • Two people were arrested and various narcotic and psychotropic substances were seized, as well as 3,000 euros in cash.

May 27, 2024.- Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency in Las Palmas together with the National Police have arrested two men, aged 32 and 39 with police records, as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking crime.

The investigation was initiated by the National Police in 2022, after the agents received information that the suspects were travelling to a nightlife area in Maspalomas (Gran Canaria) to attract customers.

Investigations carried out by the agents confirmed that they also sold the drug in their homes, where they produced it using controlled chemical precursors, or by using chemical substances that are not controlled (pre-precursors) even under international conventions. This entails an obvious danger to public health, as these are substances that cause serious damage to it, and in which the use of a multitude of preparations, acids, alcohols and solvents end up causing considerable damage to the health of the end consumer.

With the corresponding court order, two raids and searches were carried out at the homes of the two people under investigation, resulting in the seizure of 143 ecstasy pills, 190 grams of mephedrone, 35 grams of amphetamine, 13 grams of MDMA, 12 grams of tusi-2CB, 4 grams of ketamine, 1.6 grams of methamphetamine, 51.59 milliliters of GHB, 7,758 milliliters of GBL and 3,000 euros in cash, in addition to numerous documents.

Finally, two men were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking crime and placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
