Three people arrested in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in connection with drug trafficking through cannabis associations

October 31, 2024.- Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency, in a joint operation with the National Police and the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police, has arrested three people of Italian nationality with no police record for committing a crime against public health in the form of drug trafficking.
Following joint investigations initiated in March of this year, it was found that the detainees had rented a commercial premises in the capital of Gran Canaria where they had set up an 'indoor' plantation dedicated to the cultivation, production and treatment of marijuana for its subsequent sale to different cannabis associations on the island.
Searches were carried out at a home and two commercial premises, and 4.5 kilos of marijuana, 467 grams of hashish oil, and 117 grams of hashish pollen were seized.
The seized narcotic substances are believed to have had a total market value of 36,000 euros.
Once the investigation was completed, the detainees were brought before the competent judicial authority, which ordered the release of all of them on bail.
