September 4, 2024.- The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard have arrested a resident of the town of Marbella (Málaga) as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime.
Last July, agents detected a package suspected of containing narcotic substances, destined for Colombia, at a courier company in Seville.
Once opened, some clay figures with the image of Buddha were found. After the examination, a drill was carried out which revealed that 1,220 grams of MDMA were contained inside.
From that moment on, the agents focused their investigations on identifying those responsible for the shipment. Analysis of the information obtained made it possible to identify another package in August, this time bound for Iceland, and with certain similarities to the previous one. Inside, once opened, a wooden table was found. Once the bag was inspected, 3,020 grams of MDMA were found hidden in a false bottom.
Through the analysis of the information obtained, a person related to the events investigated in the town of Marbella was identified, and he was arrested and brought to court for an alleged drug trafficking crime. Investigations are still ongoing, and further arrests are not ruled out.
The operation was carried out by agents belonging to the Customs Surveillance Operational Unit of the Tax Agency in Seville and the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit of the Civil Guard of the Port of Seville (UDAIFF).
