April 3, 2025.- The Tax Agency and the Civil Guard, in collaboration with the American Container Security Initiative (CSI), have recovered 21 high-end vehicles stolen in the United States in the port of Valencia and whose end-use was the African continent. Valued at a total of 1.1 million euros, the vehicles were listed as stolen and were being transported inside containers.
The cars had been stolen in the United States and were traveling to various points in Africa, stopping in the port of Valencia. Thanks to inspections by risk analysis units composed of agents from the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard, several containers were identified that may not have contained the declared merchandise.
Thanks to the information gathered, it was possible to confirm the arrival of vehicles stolen in the United States, stopping in Valencia as a transit port. Groups dedicated to exporting stolen cars exchanged legally declared vehicles for stolen ones, or they were declared directly as other merchandise, such as furniture or mattresses.
The vehicles recovered in recent weeks will be exported back to their countries of origin to be delivered to their rightful owners.
