February 7, 2024.- Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard, in their own fiscal and customs protection tasks, under customs jurisdiction, have arrested a woman who was trying to introduce 6.3 kilos of cocaine into Valencia through an international flight. The drug was found impregnated in the structure of the suitcase itself and its interior surfaces.
During passenger control on January 12, officers detected a person of Hispanic origin who had been carrying a suitcase since the beginning of the journey and who indicated that he had nothing to declare. However, the passenger's profile raised some suspicions and prompted the security agents to check her luggage with an X-ray scanner.
This test shows a series of organic materials at the bottom of the suitcase and in the structure itself. The luggage is then opened, but nothing unusual is detected. However, the officers still had suspicions about the suitcase, so they performed the drug test on the interior side panel of the suitcase itself.
The 'narcotest' gives a positive result for cocaine. It was later verified that the prohibited substance was adhered and impregnated to the structure and base of the materials, which were made of rubber and latex. In total, after extracting the impregnated materials, a total of 6.3 kilos of prohibited substance was seized.
The detainee, a 21-year-old Brazilian woman, is charged with a crime against public health (drug trafficking).
The proceedings were handed over to the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 2 of Quart de Poblet.
