Two arrested in Tenerife for sending marijuana over the internet

The arrests took place after a controlled delivery of the drug.
March 13, 2025.- Customs Surveillance Officers of the Tax Agency and agents of the Civil Guard, in a joint operation, have intervened in three postal shipments containing a total of 1,613 grams of marijuana distributed in several envelopes and have arrested two people as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, in its form of drug trafficking.
As a result of the work of locating and controlling illicit shipments, carried out regularly by the members of the Customs Surveillance Operational Unit of the Regional Customs and IIEE Dependency of the AEAT and the Civil Guard, belonging to the UDAIFF of the Fiscal Section of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Pier, three postal shipments were detected containing a total of 1,613 grams of marijuana distributed in several envelopes.
After the judicial authorities were informed of the incident, the controlled delivery of the postal items was authorized. This was carried out by officers from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Customs Surveillance Operational Unit and Civil Guard officers from the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (UDAIFF) at Tenerife South Airport.
As a result of the operation, two individuals, aged 27 and 29, respectively, were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, in the form of drug trafficking.
One of the two individuals is under investigation, and the detainee, along with the investigations conducted, was handed over to the Arona Investigative Court on Duty. The seized substance has been sent to the Foreign Health Service.
