One person arrested for drug trafficking at Palma airport

The detainee was carrying 12 packages of cocaine hidden in a false bottom of his suitcase.
March 21, 2025.- Customs Surveillance officers from the Tax Agency and Civil Guard agents, in a joint operation, have arrested a 20-year-old man of South American origin at Palma airport as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime.
The incident occurred on March 19, when Civil Guard officers from the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit, acting as the State Fiscal Guard under the functional dependence of the Customs and Extraordinary Tax Administrator of the Tax Agency, after conducting a radiological examination of luggage from an international flight, observed several shapes and contrasts inside that could correspond to narcotic substances.
Once the luggage was opened, 12 packages of cocaine, weighing a total of 4 kilos, were found hidden in a false bottom.
As a result, the owner of the luggage, a 20-year-old South American man, was arrested as a suspected drug trafficker.
After the detainee was brought before a court, he was ordered to be imprisoned.
