Functions and public services of different Administrations

Area: Knowledge of the Natural, Social and Cultural Environment. Type: Group. Level: Third Cycle of Primary Education.

  • Together, create a mural with images that showcase the services offered by the various public administrations.

  • To do this, divide the class into groups:

    • A group draws on a mural the national and regional road network in the corresponding Autonomous Community. National highways turn red; in green, the regional elections. Its number is specified and its beginning and end are indicated.

    • Another group places on another map the network of public and private schools in the corresponding town, region, or Autonomous Community (the geographical boundaries are set by the teacher). Your name and location are written.

    • Another group charts the route to the hospital when someone falls ill and needs to be admitted for surgery. All health centers and hospitals in a given geographic district are indicated on the map.

    • Another group indicates where fire stations, police stations, and Civil Guard barracks are located. Photos of the different types of vehicles they use to get around are pasted on the mural. Why can all the cars in these services run red lights?

    • Another group is interested in the support services provided by our soldiers and the Armed Forces in general. It indicates which are the different armies and what their missions are. The international operations in which Spanish soldiers are currently participating are indicated, and the countries where they are located are colored on a world map.
