• Imagine living in the 18th century and not having many of the services we enjoy today.

• Write two essays: One about what a day would be like if you had lived in the 18th century and another about what it is like today.

• Write a dialogue with an alien to explain how you live and what your city or town is like.

• Describe how water is brought to your home.

• Consider which public services are performing the worst and which require the most financial resources. You can help yourself with the news in the newspapers. How would you defend the increased spending to improve these services for citizens in your City Council, the Legislative Assembly of your Autonomous Community, or the State Parliament? What other measures can you think of to improve services to citizens without increasing spending?

• Write a letter addressed to a tax evader, someone who does not pay his taxes, explaining why he should do so.
